Storia: The Doll Princess
Once upon a time, there was a King and a Queen living peacefully, ruling the Kingdom of Azuria. The Queen gave birth to a beautiful princess and named her Camille. The whole Kingdom rejoiced as they have a new princess.
At the first birthday of the princess, the king and queen invited the whole kingdom to celebrate. Suddenly a white witch came at the castle and ruined the celebration.
“What is the celebration here? Why is everyone so happy?” She said. “You, Queen! You don’t deserve to be happy! I should be the queen of this kingdom!” she shouted.
“Enough! Why are you still here? Knights! Capture this witch! Get her out of here!” the King angrily said.
“Is this how you pay on what i have done to you King? I saved your life when you are about to die!” The witch said.
“I’d rather died than being saved by a witch like you!” the King replied.
While the knights are trying to capture the witch, the princess cried loudly.
“Oh, look what we have here, a princess!” the witch said while laughing. “She also doesn’t deserve to be happy like the two of you!”
“I’ll be back by the time the princess will turn into 18 years old.” The witch said. “Let’s see, I’ll turn her into a doll and play with her like what I did to the queen!” The witch then suddenly disappeared.
After that incident, the curse given by the witch to the princess, made the king, the queen and the whole kingdom terrified.
As Princess Camille grows older, she was always accompanied by two royal knights to protect her against the witch. She sometimes escapes her guards which lead to frequent changing of her guards.
The princess is kind, smart and as beautiful as a doll with which many boys- knights and princes from other kingdom fall for her.
When she was already 17 years old and her 18th birthday is coming up, she asked her father again about her guards.
“Father, I’m old enough to still have knights guarding me.”
“You don’t understand my child, we need to protect you.” The king answered.
The princess asked, “Protect me from what?”
The king didn’t answer her question for the curse of the witch is being kept as a secret in the kingdom. The princess became sad at that time.
One day, a bad news came to the kingdom. “The Princess is gone!”
The king and the queen were saddened about the news. The king ordered the knights to find the princess.
The princess run away from her guards again and went outside the kingdom.
In the forest, while the princess is wandering in the lake, a pack of wolves came. The princess got scared and crying shouting for help.
When she was about to get attacked by the wolves, a boy protected him. The boy fought the wolves with his sword until the wolves retreated.
“You’re safe now. Did you get hurt?” the boy said.
The princess answered, “I’m fine. Thank you for saving me.”
The boy was amazed by the beauty of the princess. “Where do you live? I’ll accompany you home.”
The boy and the princess walked together back to the castle of Azuria.
“Thank you for accompanying me, this is where I live.” The princess said.
“You lived here? You’re the princess?” the boy was surprised.
The princess laughed and asked. “What’s your name?”
The boy replied, “I’m Charles, a Knight Trainee, I soon will serve this kingdom.”
“So it’s Charles. You’re kinda cute. Well, thank you again.”
The two bade farewell at that day.
As the Princess came home, the king and queen rushed to her and hug her.
At that time the whole kingdom celebrated for the return of the princess.
The princess cried. “I’m sorry father, mother. I’ll never do it again.”
“No, my daughter, it’s my fault. I’m being over protected to you.” The king said. “From now on, you’re only be guarded by one knight and you will choose who will be your knight.”
The princess told what happened on that day and she also chose the knight who will guard her.
The next day the king ordered all knights and knight trainees to assemble.
“Today, I gathered all of you here for I will choose the next Knight to guard my daughter.” The king said to them. “Yesterday, my daughter was saved by a Knight trainee from a pack of wolves.” “You are truly a warrior and capable of guarding my daughter.” “You are not a trainee anymore, you are now a Royal Knight.” “Please come forward, Knight Charles, for I and my daughter chose you.”
All the other knights praise and give honor to him.
Charles was a son of a former Knight. He wants to become a knight to follow his father’s footstep. Now at young age, he is already a knight.
The duty of Charles started after that assembly. He went to the princess to guard her and also thank her.
“Thank you for choosing me, princess. I promise I’ll do my duty.”
“I know you will.” The princess replied.
The two then become good friends for Charles is only a year older than the Princess. Charles always accompanies the princess when the princess wants to go outside the kingdom and helps the Princess in running away to the princes of other kingdoms who wants to court her.
One day the Princess asked Charles to accompany her to the mountains for she wants to see the beautiful scenery of the kingdom.
“Please, Charles I want to see the whole view of the kingdom. I knew father would not let me.” The princess asking pleasing her knight friend.
“But princess the mountains is too dangerous and they said there lived a white witch.” Charles said.
The princess smiled and said “I knew you would protect me, right?”
Charles can’t do anything in the princess’s request for he is already in love with the princess that time.
The two went up in the mountain riding in horses.
At the top of the mountain, the princess saw the beautiful scenery of the Kingdom of Azuria. Suddenly, they saw an old woman lying on the ground.
The princess approached the old woman and asked “Are you okay?”
The old woman replied “I’m fine dear, I just fall down from that cliff.”
The princess ordered Charles to carry the old woman back to her house.
“Why do you live here in the mountain? You’re too old to live alone” the princess worriedly asked.
“I already lived here for all of my years.” The old woman sickly answered.
The princess pitied the old woman “If you’re lonely we can be friends. Charles and I can be your friends.”
“Thank you princess, you’re really kind.” The old woman happily said.
Charles was speechless that time for he was amazed in the kindness of the princess.
The princess befriended the old woman and they visited her again the next week. The princess wanted the old woman to come to the kingdom.
“Granny, would you like to come to my 18th birthday? You will be one of my special guests. That would be next week.” The princess said to the old woman.
“Oh, dear, I’d loved to” the old woman happily replied.
“We’ll be going now, I’ll see you there.” The princess gave the invitation.
The two bade farewell to the old woman and gone back to the kingdom.
“Charles, would you come to my birthday?” the princess asked.
“I’d love to but sorry princess, we are supposed to guard outside the castle.” Charles replied.
The princess became sad that time but Charles made something to make the princess laughed. “Don’t worry princess, I’m still at your birthday, though I’ll be outside the castle.”
The day of the 18th birthday of the princess of the Kingdom of Azuria came. The whole kingdom is happily celebrating as if they forgot about the terrifying curse the white witch made to the princess.
Of course, the whole knight of the kingdom is on guard to the castle including Charles.
Charles was sad not to be able to see the beautiful princess on the night of her birthday. But as for the knights duty, he must guard the castle.
While the celebration is still going on, the princess came outside the castle and called on Charles.
“Sir Charles, the princess is calling you” a knight said to him.
Charles rushed on where the princess is. “Princess, what are you doing outside the castle? It’s dangerous here. You must come back inside.”
The princess said “I can’t enjoy my birthday thinking my friend is not there and I don’t worry in any danger for I feel safe when I’m with you.”
The two walked around the castle garden and talked.
Suddenly, a heavy rain came and the knights shouted “the white witch! The witch is here!”
“Where is my daughter?” The king asked loudly.
“I’m here father” the princess answered as she and Charles go inside the castle.
The king ordered the knights “Protect the princess at all costs!”
A voice reached the whole kingdom. “It’s too late my king, all of your knights were defeated! I came to fulfill my promise!”
The door of the castle opens widely as an old woman enters the castle.
“Granny you came! Father, I invited her to come to my birthday” the princess said.
“My child she is the white witch with who cast a curse on you! I’m sorry I kept it a secret to you. That’s why you always have a knight with you to protect you from this witch.” the king said.
“Enough for the explanation!” The witch said. The witch walked towards the princess but Charles drew his sword and guarded the princess. The witch cast a magic spell that made Charles thrown away from the Princess.
The witch touched the princess and the princess became a doll. “You’re happy days are over.” The witch took the doll princess away from the kingdom.
The whole kingdom was saddened on what happened that night especially the king and the queen.
The morning came. Charles apologized to the king for he couldn’t do anything to protect the princess that night.
“I’m sorry my king, I wasn’t able to protect your princess.” “But now, I will. I knew where the witch is hiding. I need you permission.” Charles said to the king.
“Thank you knight. You don’t need my permission, you are my daughter’s knight. I know you will fulfill your duty like your father did to my wife. I’ll send the whole Knights with you and lead them. Can I entrust my daughter to you?” the king said.
“Yes, my king. I promise I’ll do my best to get the princess back.” Charles replied positively.
As Charles goes outside the castle the queen called her.
“Sir Charles, please save my daughter. The only thing that will remove the curse is love.” The queen said.
“I promise my queen to save you daughter.”
Charles led the knights in the mountain where the witch is hiding the princess.
Inside the witch’s house was a secret cave he didn’t see before. They entered the cave and saw an old castle. As they will enter the castle, they saw the witch at the top.
“How dare you come to my castle!” the witch said angrily. The witch then summoned monsters with which Charles and the knights fought.
“Sir Charles, leave the monsters to us! Save the princess” the knights shouted.
Charles hurried inside the castle. There he saw other Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses which is cursed by the witch who turned into other things.
As Charles reached the top of the castle, he saw the doll princess in the pocket of the witch.
“Give the princess back!” he said.
“Why would I give her back? Is it because you love her? Why? Why did they don’t love me also?” the witch said angrily.
Charles said, “Yes I love the princess. That’s why I’m here to save her.” “For you they would not love you because you don’t know how to love at all.”
“No!” the witch shouted as he cast a spell on Charles. Charles covered himself with his shield and the spell is reflected back on the witch which turned her into a stone.”
The curse on the princess is gone and she’s back to normal. Also goes for the other kings, queens, princes and princesses in the castle.
“Let’s go home princess. You’re safe now.” Charles said happily to the princess.
As they returned back, the whole kingdom rejoices. The king and the queen are happy that their daughter is back safely.
Charles and his troops received the highest awards as the heroes of the Kingdom of Azuria and Charles became the Leader of the Knights and as to as a Prince for the Princess.
Charles confessed his feelings to the princess. The princess hugged him and said “saving me is enough to prove that you love me.”
Prince Charles and Princess Camille soon became the King and Queen of the Kingdom of Azuria and they lived happily ever after.
