My 2nd Story

 Storia: The Book of Friendship

A story of a friendship between an old man who likes books so much and a student who often read books.

“Okay everyone, it’s already 5 o’clock, we are going to close the library now.” An announcement made by Mr. Smith as the school bell rang which means the end of school for the day. “To those who want to borrow books, go to the counter and let Mrs. Brown take a list on it.” He added. Mr. Smith is the head librarian of the school who already worked for more than 20 years.

At one corner of the reading area, he saw a boy student who is still reading a book.  He approached the boy and said, “Sorry mister, but we are about to close.” The boy replied, “Sorry sir, I got lost track of time.” Mr. Smith said to the boy, “By the way, you can borrow that book and just return it tomorrow.” The boy replied, “I’m about to finish reading this book, but can I still borrow other books?” Mr. Smith agreed to it saying “Well of course, you can borrow any book from our library.” The boy thanked Mr. Wilson and bade farewell.

The next day, the boy came back. “Excuse me I’m going to return the books that I borrowed yesterday.” Mr. Smith came to see him. “Oh it’s nice to see you again mister…” Mr. Smith answered, “Smith, Wilson Smith, I’m the head librarian.” “It’s nice to meet you Mr. Smith; I’m John Clark, fourth year and a transferee student.” The boy said. “So it’s John. You do really like reading books huh.” Mr. Smith said. The boy responded happily “Yes, I really like reading books.” Mr. Smith said while laughing, “We share the same interest; I can see myself in you in my younger years. I hope I’ll see you more here often. “Of course I will sir.” The boy replied. Then the two laughed.

Every day, Mr. Smith always sees John going in the library reading books in his free time. They sometimes have a talked with each other sharing their book interest. They have became friends with one another.

As days passes by, their friendship grows as like as a sprouting seed.
